Princess Princess Ep01

I can sum up the first episode in two words: Breathtakingly boring. I'm really not even gonna bother to screencap this episode, since the whole thing pretty much looks the same. I'll confess now that I'm a sucker for anime about crossdressing, especially when it involves pretty boys in lolita outfits. While I've read a few chapters of the manga, I really don't know too much about this series other than the fact that it involves an all-boys high school, boys hired by the school to crossdress, and it might be shonen-ai (if this last one turns out to be the case, I'm going to drop this series).

A show like this really only has one major plot point to it, and excecution is everything. To be honest, I thought the excecution was fairly poor. The animation is a little awkward, the pacing is very slow, and while the music isn't bad, it's nothing spectacular either. Hardly any good action either, with animation resorting to talking heads and panning across the eyes. The voice acting, at least, is decent. Nothing outstanding, but certainly not terrible. I'm sad to say that I was disappointed by this episode. If you're looking for a good show with pretty boys and crossdressing, I suggest you check out Ouran Koukou Host Club instead. If Princess Princess gets better, I'll let you know.
